Feeling Less Blue

The brilliant use of a new media tool makes us all feel less blue. The recent freezing of JetBlue flights during last week’s ice storm has been dominating the headlines. But JetBlue’s PR response and ownership of the shortcoming–and their plan to fix it–sure warmed us up. Why purchase super expensive national advertising media, when you can deliver your message for free? And better still, appear human in the process. Kudos JetBlue.

Chad the Watch Guy

Check out Chad the Watch Guy, one of world’s premier watch guys, and head of the watch department at Henne Jewelers. As we at IdeaMill came to know Chad better, it was clear that what he needed was a megaphone that could be heard worldwide. Since that wasn’t available, we set him up with a blog. And the rest is history. Read CTWG’s posts regularly to learn everything you never knew about watches, and to stay up to date on the greatest timepieces.

An ad is not effective unless it connects with its audience. A PSA campaign launched by Shady Side Academy, and created by IdeaMill, under the themeline: “Common Senseless” seems to have hit the mark. Proof supplied by this student published top ten list.

PSA’s by nature are hard hitting, but this one we did for an anti-hazing initative at Pennsylvania’s Shady Side Academy titled “Testicle” hits below the belt.

Blast from the Past

The summer of 2001 was a magical time for IdeaMill. A city councilwoman was actively speaking out against one of our outdoor advertisements for XShadyside. A television ad for Iron City Beer had been banned in Canada for featuring the word, “probe”. And InPgh Magazine voted us the 82nd best thing about Pittsburgh! As Artie Lange says, “Pittsburgh is a great town,” so we were pretty psyched to be a part of such a list.

I hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
